We are often asked, “How can I join the GO Network?” Initially, we had a short list of requirements that a person needed to meet to become a member. However, we soon realized that this approach had unintended consequences. One was that it categorized people based on concepts and definitions that might not apply to them. Another was that it suggested a group would need to monitor commitments, which would require enforcement mechanisms. A third consequence was that the focus of the GO Network shifted from helping people move through boundaries into mission to creating new boundaries to keep the right people inside.
There is no perfect solution. We hold a set of shared beliefs and values that strongly define the GO Network, but we also understand that growing toward the full measure of Christ, as St. Paul states in Ephesians 4, is a process. We all start somewhere, and we invite everyone who desires to grow into the fullness of Christ to join us. Our statement of beliefs and values shapes who we are and what we do. They serve as a promise to stay faithful to God’s Word and our mission together in Christ. If that sounds appealing to you, join us by simply becoming involved.
